ERC to Negotiate Lease with Edward River Art Society

Published on 04 July 2024

Edward River Council granted sole occupancy of its Multi Arts Centre to the Edward River Art Society (ERAS) and shared occupancy of the Sunday School, at its Ordinary Council Meeting on 17 June.

Council has resolved to establish a peppercorn lease with ERAS for the occupancy of the Multi Arts Centre and shared use of the Sunday School building for a period of up to one year with further negotiations for long term utilisation to be considered by the next Council following elections in September.

Mayor of Edward River Council, Cr Peta Betts expressed Council’s enthusiasm for fostering artistic endeavors within the community.

“Edward River Art Society’s commitment to promoting the arts aligns strongly with Council’s vision for a vibrant and inclusive Edward River region and it would be great to see them with a permanent home for the fantastic creative works they facilitate,” said Cr Betts.

The Multi Arts Centre and Sunday School are currently under contract to the NSW Electoral Commission until 18 October and available for use by ERAS from that time.
