As part of our dedicated team, you’ll help drive and implement Workplace Health and Safety initiatives, manage risk assessments, and foster a culture of safety within the local council.

About the role: 

Position Name: Work Health & Safety (WHS) Coordinator   

Pay Band: Band 2 Level 3 (Grade 12) ($84,476.68 - $105,499.80) 

Fulltime: 35 hours / 9 day fortnight 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement and monitor WHS policies and procedures
  • Conduct workplace risk assessments and safety audits
  • Provide guidance and training on WHS matters to staff and management
  • Collaborate with teams to promote a proactive safety culture

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven experience in WHS management or related fields
  • Strong knowledge of WHS legislation and best practices
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to engage and influence others at all levels
