Are you a forward-thinking leader in utilities management? We’re seeking a Utilities Manager to shape a sustainable future at Edward River Council!

About the role:

Position Name: Utilities Manager
Pay Band: Grade 16 ($115,117.60 - $143,766.11)
Fulltime - 35 hours / 9 day fortnight

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Development: Drive the Utilities portfolio aligned with the Annual Operational Plan, ensuring service delivery and performance reporting.
  • Budget Management: Oversee budget performance, ensuring cost-effectiveness and innovation in savings.
  • Expert Guidance: Provide specialist advice on water supply, sewerage, and resource recovery management.
  • Cultural Leadership: Foster a culture of continuous improvement and customer service excellence.
  • Community Engagement: Lead communication and engagement efforts with stakeholders.
  • Team Leadership: Manage staff in line with our organisational values while ensuring WHS compliance.
  • Quality Assurance: Implement drinking water quality programs and manage sewer rehabilitation initiatives.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure accurate reporting to environmental authorities and maintain corporate records.



    What you will need to succeed:

  • Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent experience in civil engineering infrastructure.
  • Strong background in contract and project management.
  • Strategic thinker with excellent stakeholder collaboration skills.
  • Proven leadership in fostering a customer service-oriented culture.
  • Competent in risk management and WHS principles.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • NSW WorkCover General Induction (White Card) and a current Driver’s License required.
