Edward River Council is seeking a strategic and dynamic leader to join our team as the Manager Community & Economy. In this pivotal role, you will have the opportunity to shape and enhance our community's economic and social landscape, driving initiatives that foster growth, engagement, and prosperity.

Key Responsibilities of the Role:
Community & Stakeholder Engagement: Build and nurture partnerships with businesses, government agencies, industry groups, and community organizations, effectively enhancing economic and social outcomes for the Edward River region.
Economic & Tourism Growth: Lead investment attraction efforts, enhance business support programs, and lead tourism marketing initiatives that establish Edward River as a premier regional destination.
Grants & Funding Management: Navigate the complexities of securing external funding while overseeing grant programs that champion community and economic development projects.
Communication & Branding: Drive council’s community engagement strategies, manage media relations, and enhance our digital presence to effectively communicate our key initiatives and successes.
Financial & Performance Management: Oversee budget management, ensuring cost efficiency while tracking key performance indicators to measure and report on service outcomes effectively.
Leadership & Team Development: Provide guidance and mentorship to staff, fostering a high-performance culture that embodies our Council values of Leadership, Excellence, Accountability, and Delivery.
What You Will Bring:
To thrive in this position you will need -
A Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Social Science, Business, Communications, or a similar field, or equivalent experience combined with ongoing professional development.
A proven track record of leading teams and driving innovation to achieve strategic outcomes in community and economic development.
Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing impactful strategies that align with organizational objectives and yield measurable results.
Exceptional skills in building partnerships and collaborating with government, business, and community stakeholders to realize shared goals.
Comprehensive knowledge of economic growth strategies, tourism development, business support, and community engagement practices.
Adept in budget management, securing grants, and delivering projects on time and within budget.
Highly developed verbal and written communication skills, with experience in marketing, media engagement, and public relations.
A current Working with Children and National Police Check or a willingness to obtain one.
A valid Driver’s License.
