About the Role:

The Governance Coordinator coordinates the development and implementation of contemporary governance frameworks and the provision of information, advice and training in the areas of governance and compliance for Edward River Council to ensure good governance practices support ethical decision making and are understood and practiced as “everyone’s responsibility”.  

  • Governance Coordinator 
  • Band 2 Level 3  Grade 12 ($84,476.68 - $105,499.80)
  • Full-time - 35 hours per week / 9-day fortnight 


About You: 

  • Qualifications and Experience: An advanced certificate or associate diploma in a relevant field, or at least 2 years’ experience in a similar role. 
  • Knowledge and Technical Skills: Experience in developing, implementing, and managing governance policies and procedures, with a demonstrated ability to interpret and apply complex legislation. 
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear, accurate reports, policies, and procedures. Proven ability to liaise and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders at all levels. 
  • Leadership and Teamwork: Demonstrated ability to lead change, and foster a culture of customer service excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement. 
  • Ethical Conduct and Decision-Making: Demonstrated commitment to ethical decision-making, transparency, and accountability. 
  • Administrative and Organisational Skills: Strong organisational and administrative skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and ensure governance systems are effectively maintained and improved. 
  • Other: National Police Check or willingness to obtain one. Desirable - Current Driver’s Licence.
