About the Role:
As our Community Development & Events Officer, you'll be the driving force behind crafting vibrant community events and impactful initiatives that shape Edward River Council's public image. You'll collaborate with a passionate team, connect with diverse community groups, and be instrumental in designing and delivering programs that build a stronger, more connected, and thriving community.
What You'll Do:
- Be the Event Architect: Conceptualize, plan, and execute a diverse portfolio of events, including annual highlights like Australia Day, Seniors Week, Youth Week, and International Women's Day.
- Foster Community Growth: Work collaboratively to assess community needs and develop engaging programs that build capacity and strengthen community bonds.
- Craft Compelling Experiences: Develop and deliver high-quality promotional materials and public displays that showcase our community and events.
- Manage with Precision: Oversee event budgets, ensuring efficient resource allocation and financial accountability.
- Build Bridges: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with community groups, suppliers, and other key stakeholders, creating a network of collaboration.
- Ensure Excellence: Ensure all events and programs adhere to relevant safety standards, legislation, policies, and procedures.
- Innovate & Evaluate: Continuously refine programs and events by developing, implementing, and evaluating comprehensive strategies to improve results.
What We're Looking For:
- Contemporary experience in community development and/or event management.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills, problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
- Proficiency in using Canva to create promotional material.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain high level of accuracy whilst working to deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion.
