FINAL DAYS TO HAVE A SAY ON COMMUNITY PLAN
Published on 21 January 2025
Edward River Council is urging residents not to miss out on having their say about the community’s next 10 years, with consultation closing on 31 January.
The Community Strategic Plan -Toward 2035 is one of Council’s most important documents that shapes the future of the region, and is reviewed once every four years.
Edward River Council Interim Chief Executive Officer, Gary Arnold, is hoping to motivate residents, community groups and businesses to get involved in the plan.
“This is our roadmap for the next decade and we want to know if it aligns with your vision of where you want our region to be in the future.
“Council’s actions are largely guided by the vision outlined in this document, so we need to make sure it reflects what the people in our community want and need.”
The Community Strategic Plan focuses on the five key themes of Communities, Natural Environments, Built Environments, Economies and Leadership. It is reviewed after every ordinary council election to ensure it remains relevant, particularly as it feeds into Council’s four-year delivery program and annual operational plan.
Residents are encouraged to review the draft Plan on Council’s website at www.haveyoursay.edwardriver.nsw.gov.au/draft-community-strategic-plan and share their views via a simple online survey.
Residents can also pick up a copy at Council’s Customer Service Centre, and fill out a paper survey or phone for further information on 03 5898 3000.
Submissions close at 4pm on Friday 31 January 2025.
