The Edward River Seniors Festival 2025 is just around the corner, taking place from 3-16 March.

The festival will feature a series of amazing free events aimed at seniors over a two-week period.

Edward River Council (ERC) has once again partnered with U3A Deniliquin and Intereach to bring an exciting opportunity for seniors to celebrate, connect and thrive.

This year, the festival is also partnering with Yarkuwa to launch the event with a special Art Workshop.

The festival’s mission is to promote active, healthy, and engaged living for older community members – not just during Seniors Week, but well beyond.

Edward River Mayor Ashley Hall said the festival provides a variety of fun and engaging activities and is a wonderful opportunity to get involved in the community. “The Seniors Festival is a chance for our older residents to meet new people, rekindle old friendships, perhaps learn something new and feel socially connected again,” said Cr Hall.

Tuesday 4 March: Art Workshop at Yarkuwa A guided art session with Jo Nathan will explore stories through Indigenous art, where participants can create their own colourful coasters. Time: 10am - 12noon

Tuesday 11 March: Movie Screening – "Thelma" This 2024 American comedy-drama film, written, directed, and edited by Josh Margolin, will be screened for attendees. Time: 10am - 12noon Location: Deniliquin Town Hall
