Council to Celebrate with Free Compost Collection Day

Edward River Council is pleased to announce a major milestone in our community’s waste management journey, celebrating the remarkable achievement of less than 1% contamination rate in the green organic waste bins, thanks to the dedicated efforts of Deniliquin residents.
This outstanding achievement reflects our community's dedication to sustainable living and proper waste sorting practices.
To express our gratitude for this incredible accomplishment, Edward River Council is excited to host a Free Compost Collection Day for residents of Edward River Council.
This event will provide residents with high-quality compost directly from Biomix, the facility that processes our green bin waste.
The compost will be available for collection, giving our community the opportunity to benefit from their own efforts by enriching their gardens and landscapes.

This achievement is a testament to the commitment of Deniliquin residents and their willingness to embrace positive change.
Achieving contamination rates of less than 1% is no small feat, and it shows the collective effort to protect our environment and enhance our waste management processes.
We are proud to celebrate this success with a Free Compost Collection Day and look forward to seeing our community reap the benefits of their dedication.
Residents are encouraged to bring their own containers or trailers to collect the compost. Bring your own bags, buckets, shovels and mesh to cover trailer or ute loads.
Council staff will be on-site to manage traffic, assist residents with a small earth mover and to provide information on the benefits and uses of compost in home gardening.
