Cr Marc Petersen has been elected as Edward River Council’s new Deputy Mayor at this morning’s extraordinary Council meeting.
Cr Petersen’s appointment comes after the resignation of Paul Fellows from Council and the role of Deputy Mayor last week.
Cr Petersen will serve as Deputy Mayor for the remainder of the Council term through to September 2024.
Mayor Cr Peta Betts welcomed Cr Petersen into the role.
“I am pleased to continue to work alongside Councillor Peterson, and now in his role as Deputy Mayor. I congratulate him on this appointment.” she said.
Cr Petersen is a registered nurse and has a special interest in rural health issues. He was elected to Edward River Council in 2021.
