Art Dreams Revisited Exhibition Wraps Up with Resounding Success
Published on 27 March 2024
Over the past seven weeks, the local community and visitors to Edward River have been treated to a dreamscape of paintings at the Art Dreams Revisited exhibition, presented by Kurrajong’s Studio 2710.
Thirty-four vibrant paintings adorned the walls at the Peppin Heritage Centre Gallery, showcasing the talent and creativity of students from Studio 2710.
The exhibition not only captivated the local community but also impressed travellers from far and wide.
Among the displayed artworks, four found new homes with locals and enthusiastic visitors, generating proceeds that will fund art supplies for the studio, further nurturing their artistic endeavours.
The success of the exhibition was evident, with 1385 gallery attendees recorded by the Peppin Heritage Centre staff.
Visitors were enamoured by the art and inspired by the vision and mission of Studio 2710, which aims to provide individuals with disabilities the opportunity to explore their artistic talents in a supportive studio environment.
Edward River Council’s Acting General Manager, Mark Dalzell applauded the exhibition; “Council is proud to deliver shows and events like this, which celebrate diversity and benefit our valued community groups,” he said.
A standout moment of the exhibition was the Live Paint event, where teacher Dragos Marcu mesmerized onlookers with his creative process of a stunning landscape of the Edward River.
Attendees had the unique opportunity to witness the creation of art in real-time and engage with Dragos as he shared his artistic process.
His finished piece will be for sale at Kurrajong’s stand at the ArtOut Market on Easter Saturday in the Waring Gardens.
From one colourful show to the next, Edward River Council is thrilled to feature an internationally acclaimed body of work: ‘In Conversation’ Modern Quilt Exhibition at the Peppin Gallery from March 27 to June 2, 2024. Open 7 days, gold coin donation appreciated.
